eemaan

Eemaan is an Arabic word that translates to faith or belief in Islam. It refers to the internal conviction and acceptance of God (Allah), His angels, His books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and divine decree (both good and bad). Eemaan is considered one of the fundamental pillars of Islam, alongside Islam (submission) and Ihsan (excellence).

The concept of Eemaan encompasses both inner belief and outward affirmation. While the heart is the seat of true Eemaan, it is also expressed through words and actions. A strong Eemaan motivates a Muslim to live according to Islamic principles, to worship Allah, and to strive for righteousness in all aspects of life. It is understood that Eemaan can fluctuate, increasing with good deeds and devotion, and decreasing with sin and neglect. Muslims are encouraged to constantly nurture and strengthen their Eemaan through prayer, remembrance of Allah, and study of the Quran and Sunnah (the teachings and practices of Prophet Muhammad). The ultimate goal of Eemaan is to attain Allah's pleasure and secure a place in Paradise.
