Duplo is a line of LEGO building blocks designed for younger children. Introduced in 1969 by the LEGO Group, Duplo bricks are about twice the size of standard LEGO bricks to be easier for small hands to handle. The line includes bricks, figures, animals, wheels, and simple structures such as houses, farms, and trains; many sets incorporate themes and storytelling elements.

Duplo bricks are not compatible with standard LEGO System bricks due to the larger scale, although they can be used independently to build age-appropriate constructions. The product line is designed for children roughly 1½ to 5 years old, with safety features such as larger pieces and rounded edges to reduce choking hazards.

Over the years, Duplo has grown to include a wide range of sets and play systems, including Duplo Trains and other theme-based kits, and remains LEGO's primary offering for early childhood construction play. The line emphasizes imaginative play and early building skills, supporting fine motor development and spatial awareness while encouraging creativity. It continues to be produced and updated with new characters, themes, and educational concepts, maintaining a place in homes and classrooms worldwide.
