Cytoplasmique refers to anything located within or originating from the cytoplasm of a cell. The cytoplasm itself is the jelly-like substance filling the cell and surrounding the organelles. It's composed primarily of water, salts, and organic molecules. Within the cytoplasm, various cellular processes occur, including metabolism, protein synthesis, and cell division.

When we speak of cytoplasmique inheritance, we are referring to genetic material found outside the cell's nucleus. In eukaryotic cells, the most significant example is mitochondrial DNA, which is located within the mitochondria. Mitochondria are organelles responsible for cellular respiration and energy production. These organelles possess their own circular DNA that is inherited maternally, meaning it is passed down from the mother to her offspring. Similarly, in plant cells, chloroplasts, the sites of photosynthesis, also contain their own DNA, which is inherited cytoplasmique.

The term cytoplasmique can also describe structures or molecules that are found and function within the cytoplasm. For instance, ribosomal RNA and messenger RNA are crucial for protein synthesis and are located in the cytoplasm. Many enzymes involved in glycolysis, a key metabolic pathway, also operate within the cytoplasmic environment. Understanding the cytoplasmique components and processes is fundamental to comprehending cellular biology and function.
