butüülkummist
Butüülkummist, also known as butyl rubber, is a synthetic rubber with a low permeability to gases. It is a copolymer of isobutylene and a small amount of isoprene. The isoprene units provide cross-linking sites, allowing for vulcanization. Butyl rubber is known for its excellent resistance to heat, ozone, weathering, and many chemicals, including acids and alkalis. It also exhibits good electrical insulating properties.
The primary applications of butyl rubber are in inner tubes for tires due to its excellent air-holding
