Bolnucleus is a hypothetical term used in speculative physics and some science fiction to denote a compact cluster of baryons bound by a proposed short-range interaction called the bolon force. The concept is not part of established nuclear physics and there is no experimental evidence for bolnuclei.

In theoretical models, a bolnucleus would consist of a small number of nucleons or light baryons confined within a radius on the order of 1 to several femtometers. The binding would arise from an attractive potential mediated by the bolon field, countered by short-range repulsion to prevent collapse. Depending on the model, bolnuclei could be metastable or absolutely stable under certain conditions, and may carry unusual charge-to-mass ratios or exhibit distinctive decay modes.

Proposed formation mechanisms include extreme compression in astrophysical environments such as neutron-star cores or during high-energy collisions. Possible observational signatures discussed in speculative work include unusual spectra in cosmic rays or anomalous mass distributions in heavy-ion experiments, though no such signals have been confirmed. Current scientific consensus treats bolnuclei as conjectural.

In fiction and educational contexts, bolnucleus is sometimes used as a device to explore ideas about dense matter and novel interactions, or as a component of exotic astrophysical objects.
