bliska

Bliska is the feminine singular form of the Polish adjective bliski, meaning close or near. It describes feminine nouns and indicates proximity in space or relation. It is the counterpart to the masculine form bliski and the neuter/plural form bliskie. The word derives from a Proto-Slavic root related to closeness; its comparative form is bliższy and the superlative najbliższy. The feminine form bliska agrees with feminine nouns in gender, number, and case (for example, nominative singular: bliska, genitive singular: bliskiej, accusative singular: bliską).

In use, bliska appears in phrases such as bliska rodzina (close family) and bliska przyjaciółka (a close
