Bavurusu is a small genus of flowering plants in the family Rosaceae, first described in 1978 by botanist L. N. Hegde. The genus comprises two recognized species, Bavurusu albus and Bavurusu ruber, which are endemic to the alpine meadows of the Transhimalayan range in northern Nepal and western Tibet. Morphologically, members of the genus are herbaceous perennials with basal rosettes of lanceolate leaves. The inflorescence is a terminal panicle bearing bright white or pink five-petaled flowers, followed by reddish drupaceous fruits. Bavurusu is adapted to high‑altitude conditions, tolerating low temperatures, high ultraviolet radiation, and well‑drained, sandy soils.
