Baseband transmission is a method of transmitting a signal without modulation. This means the signal is sent directly over the transmission medium in its original frequency range. In baseband transmission, the information-carrying signal occupies a narrow frequency band that is close to zero frequency, hence the name "baseband." This is in contrast to broadband transmission, where the signal is modulated onto a higher frequency carrier wave, allowing multiple signals to share the same medium simultaneously.
