Atmosfäärinähtused are observable phenomena that occur in Earth's atmosphere. These events are diverse and range from the familiar to the spectacular.

Precipitation is a common atmospheric phenomenon, including rain, snow, sleet, and hail. These occur when water vapor in the atmosphere condenses and falls to the Earth's surface. Clouds themselves are a form of atmospheric phenomenon, appearing in various shapes and altitudes. They are formed by water droplets or ice crystals suspended in the air.

Optical phenomena are also significant. Rainbows are formed when sunlight refracts and reflects off water droplets in the atmosphere. Halos are luminous rings that appear around the sun or moon, caused by ice crystals in the air. Aurora borealis (Northern Lights) and aurora australis (Southern Lights) are spectacular displays of light in the sky, resulting from charged particles from the sun interacting with Earth's magnetic field.

Wind is another fundamental atmospheric phenomenon, driven by differences in air pressure. This movement of air can manifest as gentle breezes or powerful storms. Thunderstorms, characterized by lightning and thunder, are intense weather events involving rapid updrafts and downdrafts. Lightning is a sudden electrostatic discharge, while thunder is the sound produced by the rapid expansion of air heated by the lightning.

Other atmospheric phenomena include fog, which is essentially a cloud at ground level, and mirages, optical illusions caused by the bending of light rays. These diverse events shape our planet's climate and are a constant source of fascination.
