Antropológiát, or anthropology, is the scientific study of humanity. It is a broad discipline that examines human societies and cultures, both past and present, and their development. Anthropologists seek to understand the diversity of human experience across time and space. The field is typically divided into four main subfields: cultural anthropology, archaeology, linguistic anthropology, and biological anthropology.

Cultural anthropology focuses on the study of living cultures and human behavior. It explores social structures, customs, beliefs, and practices of different groups of people. Archaeologists study past human cultures through the excavation and analysis of material remains, such as tools, pottery, and buildings. Linguistic anthropology investigates the role of language in human social life, examining how language is acquired, used, and how it changes over time and across cultures. Biological anthropology, also known as physical anthropology, examines the biological and behavioral aspects of human beings, their extinct hominin ancestors, and related non-human primates. This subfield includes the study of human evolution, genetics, and primatology. Anthropology is inherently interdisciplinary, drawing on insights from sociology, psychology, history, biology, and other fields to provide a comprehensive understanding of what it means to be human.
