anomeristen
Anomeristen is a term used in organic chemistry to describe a molecule that has not formed an anomer. Anomers are stereoisomers of cyclic carbohydrates that differ in configuration at the anomeric carbon. The anomeric carbon is the carbon atom in a cyclic monosaccharide that was the carbonyl carbon of the open-chain form. When a monosaccharide cyclizes, this carbon becomes chiral, and the two possible configurations at this carbon are designated as alpha (α) and beta (β).
A molecule that is anomeristen is therefore not in its cyclic form or exists in a way
