anemometret
An anemometre is an instrument used for measuring wind speed. The most common type is the cup anemometre, which consists of three or four hemispherical cups mounted on arms that rotate around a central spindle. The wind catches the cups, causing them to spin at a speed proportional to the wind's velocity. The rotation is then converted into an electrical signal, which is displayed on a meter or recorded by a data logger.
Other types of anemometres include the vane anemometre, which uses a propeller-like rotor, and the hot-wire
Anemometres are used in a variety of applications, including meteorology, aviation, wind energy, and sailing. They
