Anarcho-libertarianism, also known as anarcho-capitalism, is a political philosophy that advocates for the abolition of the state in favor of a society based on voluntary cooperation and private property rights. Anarcho-libertarians believe that all services currently provided by the state, such as law enforcement, defense, and dispute resolution, can and should be provided by private entities in a free market. They contend that this would lead to greater efficiency, innovation, and individual liberty.

Central to anarcho-libertarian thought is the non-aggression principle, which states that it is illegitimate to initiate force or the threat of force against another person or their property. This principle is seen as the foundation for a just and free society. Property rights are considered paramount, and individuals are free to use and dispose of their property as they see fit, as long as they do not violate the rights of others.

In an anarcho-libertarian society, disagreements would be resolved through private arbitration and contract law. Defense would be provided by private security agencies, and roads, education, and healthcare would be privately owned and operated. Critics often raise concerns about the potential for monopolies, exploitation, and the protection of the vulnerable in such a system. However, proponents argue that competition and the enforcement of voluntary contracts would naturally address these issues, leading to a more prosperous and free society for all.
