Adyge, also known as Adyghe or Adygey, refers to an ethnic group indigenous to the northwestern Caucasus region. They are a Circassian people, speaking the Adyghe language, which belongs to the Northwest Caucasian language family. Historically, the Adyge lived in a region called Circassia, a territory that encompassed parts of modern-day Krasnodar Krai and the Republic of Adygea in Russia. Their traditional society was organized into distinct principalities or territorial communities, each with its own leadership.
The Adyge have a rich cultural heritage characterized by distinct traditions, music, dance, and a complex system
