Yläsävelistä

Yläsävelistä refers to the partial tones or overtones that are naturally present in any musical sound produced by a vibrating source. When a musical instrument or the human voice produces a note, it doesn't just create a single pure frequency. Instead, it generates a fundamental frequency, which is the note we perceive as the pitch, and a series of higher frequencies called yläsävelistä. These yläsävelistä are integer multiples of the fundamental frequency. For example, if the fundamental frequency is 100 Hz, the yläsävelistä would be at 200 Hz, 300 Hz, 400 Hz, and so on.

The relative loudness or amplitude of these yläsävelistä determines the timbre or tone color of the sound.
