Växelströmsidan

Växelströmsidan is a Swedish term that translates to "alternating current side" or "AC side" in English. It refers to the part of an electrical system or device that operates with alternating current. Alternating current is characterized by its periodically reversing direction. This is in contrast to direct current (DC), where the flow of charge is unidirectional.

In many electrical contexts, a system will have both a DC side and an AC side. For instance, a power adapter that converts household AC voltage to a lower DC voltage for a device has a distinct AC input and a DC output. The växelströmsidan would be the part connected to the mains power supply, typically involving transformers, rectifiers (which convert AC to DC), and other components that manage the alternating current before or after it is converted.
