Vzduchom

Vzduchom is the instrumental singular form of the Slovak noun vzduch, which means air or the atmosphere surrounding objects. In Slovak grammar, vzduchom marks the instrumental case and is used to express means, medium, or manner by which an action occurs.

Typical usage describes the medium through which something is perceived or transmitted. For example: Vôňa sa šíri vzduchom (The scent spreads through the air). The instrumental form can also appear in meteorological or descriptive phrases where air is the operative medium.

Historically, vzduch is a basic Slavic noun for air, and vzduchom is formed by adding the instrumental ending -om in Slovak. A closely related form in Czech is vzduchem, illustrating cross-language variation within West Slavic languages.
