Virtsaamisen
Virtsaaminen, also known as urination or micturition, is the biological process by which waste products and excess water are expelled from the body. This vital bodily function is primarily regulated by the urinary system, which includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. The kidneys filter waste products, such as urea, from the blood, concentrating them into urine. This urine then travels down the ureters to the bladder, a muscular organ that stores it. When the bladder becomes sufficiently full, stretch receptors send signals to the brain, initiating the urge to urinate. The brain then signals the bladder muscles to contract and the sphincter muscles controlling the urethra to relax, allowing urine to be expelled from the body. The frequency and volume of urination can vary significantly among individuals and can be influenced by factors such as fluid intake, diet, medication, and underlying medical conditions. Maintaining proper hydration and understanding normal urination patterns are important for overall health.
