Videosignaaleja refers to the signals that carry visual information for display on a screen. These signals are the raw data that allows televisions, monitors, and other display devices to reconstruct an image. They can be transmitted in various forms, both analog and digital.

Analog video signals, like those used in older television systems such as NTSC, PAL, and SECAM, represent image information as continuous electrical waves. Color and brightness are typically encoded within these wave patterns. Analog signals are susceptible to interference and signal degradation, which can lead to a less sharp or accurate image.

Digital video signals, on the other hand, represent image information as discrete numerical values, essentially binary code. This digital format allows for a higher degree of accuracy and resilience against noise. Common digital video interfaces include HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI. Digital signals are also more efficient for compression, enabling higher resolutions and frame rates to be transmitted over networks or stored on media. The conversion from a camera's sensor or a computer's graphics card to a viewable image on a screen involves complex processing of these video signals.
