Varoventtiilejä

Varoventtiilejä, known in English as safety valves or relief valves, are essential mechanical devices designed to control or limit pressure in a system. They are crucial safety components in a wide range of applications, from boilers and pressure vessels to pipelines and industrial machinery. The primary function of a varoventtiili is to automatically release excess pressure when it exceeds a predetermined safe limit. This prevents catastrophic failures, explosions, and damage to equipment.

The operation of a varoventtiili is typically based on a spring-loaded mechanism or a pilot-operated system. In a spring-loaded valve, a spring holds a disc or poppet against a seat, sealing the system. When the system pressure reaches the set point, it overcomes the force of the spring, lifting the disc and allowing fluid or gas to escape. Varoventtiilejä are characterized by their set pressure, which is the pressure at which the valve begins to open, and their blowdown pressure, the pressure at which the valve closes. They are manufactured from various materials, such as brass, stainless steel, and cast iron, depending on the service conditions and the media being handled. Regular inspection and testing of varoventtiilejä are critical to ensure their reliable performance and the overall safety of the system they protect.
