Valtuutetuissa

This arrangement is governed by the Act on the Representation of Individuals (30/1996), which outlines the rights, duties, and responsibilities of both the principal and the representative.

The representative, or valtuutettu, is authorized to make decisions and take actions on behalf of the principal in specific areas, such as financial matters, property transactions, or legal proceedings. The authority granted to the representative can be limited to certain types of decisions or transactions, and it can be revoked or modified at any time by the principal.

The principal, on the other hand, has the right to revoke the representative's authority at any time and to take back control of their affairs. The representative is also obligated to act in the best interests of the principal and to disclose any conflicts of interest that may arise.

Valtuutetuissa is a common practice in Finland, particularly among older individuals who may have difficulty managing their affairs due to age or disability. It allows them to maintain control over their financial and legal matters while receiving the support and guidance of a trusted representative. The representative can also provide valuable insights and advice, helping the principal make informed decisions and avoid potential pitfalls.
