Valtiopäällikkö is a Finnish term that translates to "Head of State" in English. This office is the highest representative of a sovereign state, embodying its legitimacy and continuity. In Finland, the role of Valtiopäällikkö is held by the President of the Republic. The President of Finland is elected by popular vote for a six-year term and can be re-elected once.
