Välittäjäorganismer

Välittäjäorganismer, or vector organisms, are living entities that transmit infectious pathogens from one host to another. These organisms do not typically cause disease in the host they carry, but are essential for the life cycle of many pathogens. Common examples of välittäjäorganismer include insects like mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas, as well as some snails and rodents. The pathogen may undergo a developmental stage within the välittäjäorganismi before it can be transmitted to a new host.

The transmission process can occur in several ways.
