Välittäjäaineeseen

Välittäjäaineeseen is the illative singular form of välittäjäaine, Finnish for neurotransmitter. In neuroscience, a neurotransmitter is a chemical messenger released by neurons to transmit signals across synapses to target cells such as other neurons, muscle cells, or gland cells. The illative case -eseen expresses direction toward or into something, and in this usage it indicates actions directed at the neurotransmitter or processes that involve the neurotransmitter as their target.

In scientific Finnish, this form appears in common expressions like välittäjäaineeseen sitoutuminen (binding to the neurotransmitter) and välittäjäaineeseen liittyminen (interaction with the neurotransmitter).
