Unohtanut

Unohtanut is the past participle of the Finnish verb unohtaa (to forget). In Finnish, it means “forgotten” and is used both in verb phrases to form perfect tenses and as an adjective describing something that has been forgotten.

As a part of verb phrases, unohtanut combines with the auxiliary olla to express perfect tenses. Examples include: Olen unohtanut avaimeni (I have forgotten my keys) and Muistot ovat unohtuneet (the memories have faded/been forgotten). The participle can also appear in predicative constructions such as Se on unohtunut (It has been forgotten). When used attributively, it agrees with the noun in number and case, for example: unohtunut tarina (a forgotten story) and unohtuneet muistot (forgotten memories).
