Ultraäänianturit, known in English as ultrasonic sensors, are devices that use sound waves to detect and measure objects. They operate by emitting a pulse of ultrasonic sound, which is a frequency beyond the range of human hearing. This sound wave travels outwards and reflects off an object. The sensor then listens for the returning echo. By measuring the time it takes for the echo to return, the sensor can calculate the distance to the object.
