Táborites
The Táborites were a radical splinter group of the Hussites in Bohemia during the 15th century. Emerging in 1419, they were named after their fortified city of Tábor, which became a center for their religious and social ideals. Their theological views were among the most extreme of the Hussite movement, rejecting much of the established church hierarchy and doctrines. Key to their beliefs was a literal interpretation of the Bible and a desire for a primitive Christian community. They emphasized communal living, shared property, and rejected many of the sacraments and rituals of the Catholic Church, including Purgatory and the veneration of saints.
