Trogbandförderer

Trogbandförderer, also known as trough belt conveyors, are a type of material handling equipment used to transport bulk materials. They differ from standard belt conveyors in that their carrying run is formed into a trough shape. This trough is typically created by idler rollers arranged in a way that elevates the sides of the belt. This design allows for a higher material load capacity compared to a flat belt conveyor and helps to contain loose or granular materials, preventing spillage.

The troughing effect is achieved by using a set of angled idler rollers, usually three or five, positioned across the width of the belt. The center idler is typically horizontal, supporting the bulk of the material, while the outer idlers are angled upwards, forming the trough. The return run of the belt is usually carried on flat idlers. Trogbandförderer are commonly employed in industries such as mining, agriculture, and construction for the transport of coal, grain, sand, and other bulk commodities. They are a reliable and efficient method for moving materials over moderate distances and can be configured for horizontal, inclined, or declined conveying. The specific angle of the troughing idlers can be adjusted to suit the material being transported and the desired capacity.
