Tolbachik

Tolbachik is a volcanic massif located in the southern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia. It is part of the Tolbachik volcanic complex, which includes the Plosky Tolbachik and Ostry Tolbachik volcanoes. The massif is known for its frequent eruptions, with the most recent significant activity occurring in 2012-2013.

The Tolbachik volcanic complex is characterized by its shield volcanoes, which are broad, gently sloping volcanoes formed by the eruption of basaltic lava. Ostry Tolbachik, on the other hand, is smaller and has a summit elevation of about 3,085 meters (10,121 feet).

The 2012-2013 eruption of Tolbachik was one of the largest in the region in recent history. It began on November 27, 2012, and lasted until September 2013. The eruption produced large volumes of lava, creating new lava fields and destroying several villages in the area.
