Timvärden

Timvärden is a Swedish term that translates to "time values" or "time credits" and refers to a concept often used in informal exchange and community building. It operates on the principle of valuing everyone's time equally, regardless of the type of service or task performed. In a timvärden system, an hour of work is worth one timvärde, regardless of whether it involves gardening, childcare, teaching, or accounting.

The core idea is to create a reciprocal network where individuals can offer their skills and receive help in return, without the need for monetary transactions. When someone contributes an hour of their time, they earn one timvärde. They can then "spend" this timvärde to receive an hour of service from another participant in the network. This system fosters mutual support and strengthens social bonds within a community.
