Thermoplastické

Thermoplastický is a term used to describe a type of plastic material that becomes pliable or moldable above a specific temperature and solidifies upon cooling. This process is reversible, meaning that thermoplastické materials can be repeatedly heated, shaped, and cooled without significant degradation. This characteristic distinguishes them from thermosetting plastics, which undergo an irreversible chemical change when heated and cured.

The ability to be remelted and reshaped makes thermoplastické materials highly recyclable. Common examples of thermoplastické polymers include polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene, and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). These materials are widely used in various applications due to their versatility, ease of processing, and cost-effectiveness.

Thermoplastické polymers are characterized by their linear or branched molecular chains, which are held together by weaker intermolecular forces. When heated, these forces are overcome, allowing the chains to slide past each other, resulting in the material becoming soft and viscous. Upon cooling, the intermolecular forces re-establish themselves, locking the chains in place and solidifying the material. The specific temperature at which this transformation occurs is known as the glass transition temperature or melting point, depending on the polymer's structure.
