Th17mediated
Th17mediated refers to biological processes or pathological conditions that are driven by T helper 17 (Th17) cells. Th17 cells are a subset of CD4+ T lymphocytes that play a crucial role in the immune system, particularly in defense against extracellular bacteria and fungi, and in the maintenance of mucosal immunity. They are characterized by their production of cytokines such as interleukin-17A (IL-17A), IL-17F, IL-21, and IL-22. These cytokines orchestrate immune responses by recruiting and activating other immune cells, promoting inflammation, and enhancing the barrier function of epithelial tissues.
While essential for host defense, dysregulated Th17 activity is implicated in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune
