Telogeenivaihe
Telogeenivaihe refers to the final stage of the hair growth cycle, known as the resting phase. During this period, the hair follicle is inactive, and the hair strand has completed its growth. Telogen is the longest phase of the hair cycle, typically lasting for about two to four months. At the end of telogen, the hair is shed, and a new hair begins to grow from the same follicle, initiating the anagen (growth) phase. Approximately 10-15% of a person's hair is in the telogen phase at any given time. Factors such as stress, hormonal changes, and certain medical conditions can sometimes lead to a higher percentage of hair entering the telogen phase prematurely, resulting in increased shedding, a condition known as telogen effluvium. This increased shedding is usually temporary, and hair growth typically returns to normal once the underlying cause is addressed. The transition from telogen to anagen is a natural and continuous process, ensuring a consistent hair coverage on the scalp.
