Tabán
Tabán is a historic neighborhood located on the Buda side of Budapest, Hungary, nestled at the foot of Gellért Hill. It is one of the oldest settlements in the city, with archaeological evidence suggesting human habitation dating back to prehistoric times. The area gained prominence during the Ottoman occupation of Hungary, becoming a significant center for Serbian refugees who settled there in the 17th century. This Serbian presence left a lasting cultural and architectural imprint on Tabán, evident in its churches and street names.
