Személyazonosságigazolás is the Hungarian term for identity verification or identification. It refers to the process of confirming a person's identity, typically using official documents. This is a fundamental requirement in many administrative, legal, and financial transactions in Hungary.

The most common form of személzazonosságigazolás is presenting a valid identification document. In Hungary, the primary official identity documents are the personal identification card (személyazonosító igazolvány) and the passport (útlevél). Both documents contain personal information such as name, date and place of birth, mother's maiden name, photograph, and a unique identification number. In some cases, a driver's license (jogosítvány) may also be accepted as a form of identification, although it is not considered a primary official identity document for all purposes.

Személyazonosságigazolás is required in various situations. For instance, it is necessary when opening a bank account, applying for loans, registering for certain public services, voting, or when entering into significant contracts.
