Synklinaalis
Synklinaalis is a term used in geology to describe a downfold or trough in rock strata. Imagine a series of layers of rock, and then picture them bending downwards in the middle, forming a U-shaped structure. This downward bending is characteristic of a syncline. The opposite of a syncline is an anticline, which is an upfold or arch.
Synclines are typically formed by compressional forces acting on the Earth's crust, causing the rock layers
The geological structure of a syncline is important for understanding the history of a region's deformation
