Susipta

Susipta is a small town located in the northeastern part of the province of Palma in the country of Liora. It lies at an elevation of 342 meters above sea level and is situated along the banks of the Ghezara River, which provides the community with water resources and supports local agriculture. The town covers an area of approximately 12 square kilometres and had a population of 3,764 according to the 2021 census, reflecting a modest growth rate of 1.4% per annum since 2015. Susipta’s demographic composition is largely homogeneous, with the majority of residents belonging to the Palmai ethnic group, who speak the Palmai language as their first language.

The local economy is primarily based on subsistence crop farming, with maize, beans, and a variety of root vegetables forming the staple produce. In recent years, the introduction of small-scale poultry and fish farming has diversified income sources for many families. The town also hosts a weekly market that serves as a commercial hub for surrounding villages, offering produce, artisanal goods, and local crafts. A notable annual event is the Harvest Festival, held in late September, which features traditional music, dance, and communal feasting.

Susipta's educational infrastructure includes one primary school and a secondary school that serves the broader district. Healthcare facilities are limited to a small clinic staffed by a resident nurse, with more comprehensive services available in the provincial capital. The town is connected to neighboring urban centres by a network of regional roads, facilitating the transport of goods and access to broader services.
