Suoravirtalämmitys, also known as direct current heating, refers to a method of generating heat by passing a direct electric current through a resistive material. Unlike alternating current (AC) heating systems, which are more common in household appliances, DC heating systems utilize a constant flow of electrons in a single direction. The heat generated is a direct consequence of the Joule heating effect, where electrical energy is converted into thermal energy as the current encounters resistance.
