Suodatettu

Suodatettu is a Finnish adjective and past passive participle derived from the verb suodattaa, meaning to filter. It describes something that has undergone filtration or purification through a filter or filtering process.

Grammatically, suodatettu functions as an adjective and agrees with the noun it modifies in number and case. It is formed with the suffix -ttu on the verb stem, for example suodatettu kahvi (filtered coffee), suodatettu vesi (filtered water), or suodatetun veden laatu (the quality of filtered water).

Common uses include everyday language and technical contexts. In daily speech it refers to filtered liquids such as coffee or water. In technical, consumer, or industrial settings it can describe air, soil, data, or signals that have been filtered to remove impurities, contaminants, or noise. The opposite form is suodattamaton, meaning unfiltered.

In addition to describing physical substances, suodatettu appears in information technology and data processing to denote filtered data, for instance datasets that have been cleaned or narrowed by a filter. It is also encountered on product labels and in instructions that describe processing steps.
