StudSat3

StudSat3 is a CubeSat satellite developed by students at RV College of Engineering in Bengaluru, India. It was launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) as part of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV-D2) mission on February 10, 2023. The primary objective of StudSat3 was to serve as a technology demonstrator, testing various subsystems and experimental payloads in orbit.

The satellite's mission focused on demonstrating advancements in satellite technology for potential future applications. Its payload included a multispectral camera designed to capture images of the Earth's surface, which could be used for remote sensing and environmental monitoring. Additionally, StudSat3 carried a beacon transmitter to test communication systems and provide telemetry data back to ground stations. The CubeSat form factor, measuring 3U (approximately 10x10x30 cm), allowed for a cost-effective and rapid development cycle.

The development of StudSat3 provided valuable hands-on experience for the student team in satellite design, integration, testing, and operation. It represented a significant effort in fostering indigenous space technology development and education within India.
