Stemfront

Stemfront refers to the leading edge of a plant's shoot, specifically the region containing the apical meristem and the developing leaf primordia. This is the primary growth zone responsible for the elongation of the stem and the formation of new leaves. The apical meristem is a cap of actively dividing cells that produce new cells for growth. As these cells differentiate, they form the various tissues of the stem and leaves. The stemfront is therefore crucial for the plant's ability to grow taller and expand its photosynthetic surface. Environmental factors such as light, water, and nutrients play a significant role in the development and activity of the stemfront.
