Sinäkin

Sinäkin is a Finnish particle meaning “you too” or “you as well.” It is formed by the pronoun sinä (you) combined with the focus particle kin and is used to express reciprocity, inclusion, or solidarity in relation to a prior statement or situation. It can function in both affirmative and questioning contexts and may appear in the middle of a sentence or as a short exclamatory phrase.

In use, kin adds emphasis that the added subject is included in the same action, feeling, or situation as the other person. It is common in everyday speech and written Finnish to signal agreement, shared action, or mutual experience with the addressee. The form sinäkin is invariant and typically does not change for number or case when attached to sinä; other pronouns can form corresponding compounds such as minäkin (me too) or tekin (you all too).

Examples:

- Sinäkin olet tullut. You have come too.

- Minäkin pidän siitä. I also like it. (Note: this uses minäkin, the first-person counterpart.)

- Sinäkin tulet? You’re coming too?

- Sinäkin! Often used as a spontaneous short exclamation meaning “You too!” in response to someone’s comment or action.

Variants exist for other persons, such as minäk; tekin for you all; and hänkin for “he/she too.” Kin functions as a general intensifier of inclusive meaning and is a common feature of Finnish sentence construction, contributing to naturalness and brevity in conversation.
