Sidhus

The Sidhus, also spelled Sidhu, are a Jat clan of Punjabi origin. They are primarily associated with the Punjab regions of India and Pakistan, and Sidhus bearing the Sidhu surname are found among the Punjabi diaspora in Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia.

As a Jat clan, Sidhus have historically been agrarian. The Sidhu lineage is one of several Jat lineages in Punjab, and Sidhus have been part of Sikh, Hindu and other communities across the region for centuries. In modern times they have been prominent in fields such as agriculture, business, politics, the military and the arts.

Notable Sidhus include Navjot Singh Sidhu, a former Indian cricketer who later became a politician and media personality, and Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, known as Sidhu Moose Wala, a Punjabi singer and rapper.
