Sharpeynsäikeiden
Sharpeynsäikeiden is a Finnish term that translates to "Sharpey's fibers" in English. Sharpey's fibers are crucial microscopic structures involved in the attachment of teeth to the jawbone. They are bundles of collagen fibers that originate from the periodontal ligament, a specialized connective tissue that surrounds the root of a tooth. These fibers penetrate the cementum of the tooth root on one end and the alveolar bone of the jaw on the other, effectively anchoring the tooth in place.
The formation of Sharpey's fibers is a continuous process. As bone remodels around the tooth, new fibers
