SNMG2
SNMG2, also known as S-nasal membrane glycoprotein 2, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SNMG2 gene. This gene is located on chromosome 11q23.3. SNMG2 is a member of the SNMG family of proteins, which are involved in the regulation of cell adhesion and migration. The SNMG2 protein is expressed in various tissues, including the nasal mucosa, lung, and kidney. It plays a role in the maintenance of the epithelial barrier function and in the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation. SNMG2 has been implicated in several diseases, including chronic rhinosinusitis and lung cancer. However, the exact mechanisms by which SNMG2 contributes to these diseases are not yet fully understood. Further research is needed to elucidate the role of SNMG2 in health and disease.
