Sünaptiline

Sünaptiline refers to anything related to a synapse. A synapse is a specialized junction between two nerve cells, called neurons, or between a neuron and a muscle or gland cell. It is where information is transmitted from one cell to another. This transmission typically occurs through the release of chemical messengers called neurotransmitters from the presynaptic neuron, which then bind to receptors on the postsynaptic cell, triggering a response. In some cases, synaptic transmission can be electrical, involving direct ion flow between cells through gap junctions.

The term "sünaptiline" can be used to describe various aspects of synaptic function. For example, "sünaptiline membraan" (synaptic membrane) refers to the membrane of the neuron or target cell at the synapse. "Sünaptiline pilu" (synaptic cleft) is the small gap between the presynaptic and postsynaptic membranes where neurotransmitters diffuse. "Sünaptiline vesiikul" (synaptic vesicle) is a small sac within the presynaptic terminal that stores neurotransmitters.
