Rookpennen
Rookpennen, literally “smoke pens” in Dutch, are small handheld devices designed to produce a controlled plume of smoke-like vapor. They are distinct from large fog machines and from vape devices, and are intended primarily for visualization of air flow, stage effects, or artistic photography. Most models are battery-powered and use a replaceable liquid reservoir containing propylene glycol- or glycerin-based fluids, sometimes water-based mists. When activated, the liquid is heated or evaporated and expelled through a fine nozzle, creating a visible smoke trail without combustion.
Applications include HVAC airflow testing, where technicians trace air movement in ducts; film and theatre to
Safety and regulation: Users should operate in well-ventilated spaces and avoid inhaling large amounts of vapor.
