Romedal

Romedal is a farm settlement in Vik, Hordaland, Norway. Its population in 1865 was 206 inhabitants. The village had a post office from 1893 to 1986. Romedal is located along the Voss District Railway.

The area has been inhabited since the Mesolithic era, with the presence of artifacts from the time period. The nearby Rimfjord Bay has been known to contain broken ware from the medieval era as well. The settlement grew during the Middle Ages, driven by the need for agricultural land. The landscape around Romedal has natural deposits of several minerals, including quartz and augite, which may have contributed to the settlement's growth.

Romedal is situated in the western part of the Austfjell mountain range, near the city of Straume. The village's terrain features a combination of gentle and steep slopes. A number of picks and axes have been discovered in the locality, which have been linked to the stone age settlers.
