RAMI40

RAMI40 is an acronym for Reference Architectural Model Industrie 4.0. It is a hierarchical, layered, and cross-linked architectural model developed to standardize the concept of Industrie 4.0. The model provides a structured framework for understanding and implementing the key components and their interactions within an Industrie 4.0 environment. The RAMI40 model consists of three main axes: the Life Cycle & Value Stream, the Hierarchy Levels, and the Layers. The Life Cycle & Value Stream axis represents the entire product and production process, from design and manufacturing to operation and disposal. The Hierarchy Levels axis categorizes the different levels of integration, from the shop floor to the enterprise level and even to societal systems. The Layers axis breaks down the functionalities into distinct layers, such as Business, Functional, Communication, Integration, and Data.
