Puthukkudiyiruppu

Puthukkudiyiruppu is a village located in the Kilinochchi District of the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. It is situated approximately 25 kilometers northwest of the district capital, Kilinochchi town. The area is primarily agricultural, with paddy cultivation being a dominant livelihood for its residents.

Historically, Puthukkudiyiruppu was significantly impacted by the Sri Lankan Civil War. It was a strategic location and saw considerable fighting. Following the end of the conflict, the village underwent reconstruction efforts and has been working towards recovery and development. The population consists mainly of Sinhalese and Tamil communities.

The village has basic infrastructure, including schools and a few community centers. Access to the area is typically via road networks connecting to larger towns and cities in the Northern Province.
